What is a TLD?
"TLD" stands for "Top Level Domain". The Top Level Domain (TLD) is the address at the highest hierarchy. It stands at the end of the domain, and is provided with a point separated from the rest. Each TLD is used by a particular authority management. There are country-specific TLDs (country code Top Level Domains - ccTLDs like .at, .ch, .com, .eu,...) and Domains, that show something about the type of the page content (Generic Top Level Domains - gTLDs, such as : .com, .net, .org, .biz, .tv, .fm, ...)
